The Minister of Municipal Government is the approving authority for subdivisions outside the City of Winnipeg. This responsibility has been delegated to certain regional offices of the Community and Regional Planning Branch of Municipal Government. The Community & Regional Planning Branch - Selkirk is the approving authority for subdivisions for the Town of Arborg. 

Before starting the process it is recommended that you discuss your proposal with your local municipal or planning district board staff, or the CRP Regional office to determine the policies and regulations that may relate to your application. Permits & Applications

Almost everything requires an approved permit prior to construction these days. This is your protection as a home owner to ensure that construction is within the Manitoba Building Code, your local Municipal Zoning and Building By-laws. The Town of Arborg has a zoning by-law that governs the development of properties. Administration of zoning changes and building permits are handled by Eastern Interlake Planning District.
